Job Description
The Country Clinical Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing clinical operations across the country/district(s). This includes leadership of Site Management and Monitoring (SMM) teams, ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and high-quality delivery of clinical studies. The role drives operational excellence, implements best practices, and aligns local activities with regional/global initiatives to support AbbVie’s emergence as a world-class R&D organization. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee country/district clinical operations, including site feasibility, selection, activation, monitoring, and closure.
- Ensure on-time and within-budget execution of clinical trials.
- Provide expertise on local regulatory and legal requirements; ensure adherence to GCPs, ICH guidelines, and AbbVie SOPs.
- Maintain audit and inspection readiness; act as country contact for regulatory agency queries.
- Drive CAPA preparation and implementation for quality compliance.
- Manage country/district resources including recruitment, allocation, and performance management.
- Plan and administer functional budgets efficiently.

Educational Qualification

- At least 2 years of line management experience including staff acquisition, coaching, and mentoring.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; adaptability to dynamic environments.
- Experience across multiple therapeutic areas and study phases is preferred.
