Educational Requirements
- Degree or qualification in Pharmacy
- Equivalent education, training, or experience may be considered
- LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) certification, where applicable
Key Responsibilities
- Perform independently as a Clinical Data Coder or Lead Coder/DOC for assigned protocols
- Manage coding activities across the full clinical study lifecycle
- Code medical terms using MedDRA, WHO Drug and other medical dictionaries
- Validate and test coding applications, reports, datasets, and edits
- Conduct data reviews, discrepancy management, and data clarifications
- Perform Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reconciliation
- Manage coding timelines in coordination with DOC, DTL, or Data Management leads
- Perform quality control checks and support the implementation of new technologies
- Support audits for assigned studies and coding projects
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, work instructions, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology
- Hands-on experience with MedDRA, WHO Drug and clinical coding tools
- Understanding of clinical data management processes from study start-up to database lock
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Experience with SAE reconciliation and audit support
- Good understanding of database technologies used in data management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
