Key Responsibilities
Clinical Data Coding & Management
- Serve independently as a Clinical Data Coder, Lead Coder, or Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) for assigned protocols.
- Manage coding activities and standalone coding projects across the entire study lifecycle.
- Perform medical coding using standard dictionaries such as MedDRA and WHODD.
Data Review & Quality Control
- Conducting comprehensive data review and resolving data clarifications is essential for Coder Job role.
- Validate and test coding applications, reports, datasets, edits, and related programming activities.
- Perform quality control procedures to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Safety & Compliance Activities
- Perform Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reconciliation activities.
- Handle audit requirements for studies and standalone coding projects.
- Ensure compliance with operating procedures, work instructions, and regulatory standards.
Project & Team Support
- Managing coding timelines with guidance from the DOC, Data Team Lead, or Manager is required for this Coder Job role.
- Act as backup for Lead Coder, DOC, or Data Team Lead when required.
- Provide coding and project-related solutions independently to the Data Management team.
- Support implementation of new technologies and process improvements.
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain effective communication with study teams, managers, and clients.
- Build strong working relationships across cross-functional teams.
Skills Required for Coder Job Role
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology
- Hands-on experience with MedDRA, WHODD, and medical coding tools
- Understanding of clinical data management processes from study start-up to database lock
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of database technologies related to data management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
