Job Purpose
The Editor Job role is responsible for evaluating manuscripts and making decisions based on deep subject matter understanding. Responsibilities include contributing to editorial board development, journal strategy, special projects, and process optimization while maintaining DEI principles.
Key Accountabilities for Editor Job Role:
- Assess submitted manuscripts across the journal’s scope
- Make final acceptance decisions based on subject expertise, reviewer feedback, and author responses
- Stay updated on research developments and publishing practices
- Provide expert suggestions for Editorial Board recruitment and Special Collection topics
- Collaborate with Senior Scientific Editors, Journal Managers, and Editorial Board members
- Manage a high submission volume while ensuring high-quality publishing standards
- Maintain journal KPIs and uphold DEI principles in evaluation

Educational Requirements for Editor Job Role:
- PhD in a medical science (pharmacology, biochemistry, etc.)
- Postdoctoral experience (preferred but not required)
