Role Summary
Working under the supervision of the Chemical Development Lead, you will focus on the invention and optimization of synthetic routes for Bayer’s agrochemical solutions. This is a highly practical, laboratory-based role requiring a deep understanding of modern synthetic methodologies and the ability to work within interdisciplinary teams, including process engineers and analytical chemists.
Key Responsibilities

Route Scouting: Invent new synthetic routes and manufacturing processes to transform complex molecules into scalable agrochemical solutions.

Process Optimization: Conduct experiments to refine processes, evaluate safety, and facilitate high-throughput screening.

Data Documentation: Maintain rigorous records of generated data in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).

Scale-Up Support: Collaborate with Process Engineers to optimize unit operations and generate the engineering data required for manufacturing scale-up.

EHS Compliance: Strictly follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Candidate Qualifications

Academic Foundation: M.Sc/M.Pharm with 0-3 years’ experience designing and performing experiments in a laboratory setting to meet project timelines and objectives.

Analytical Expertise: Proficiency in small molecule analysis, including chromatographic techniques, NMR, and Mass Spectroscopy for structure elucidation.

Operational Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts as required by laboratory timelines.
