Job Description
This Officer-Patent Job under Pharma Jobs involves conducting patent searches, performing due diligence, patentability analysis, patent scouting, and competitive intelligence. The role supports innovation and intellectual property protection across pharmaceutical and agrochemical research programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform FTO (Freedom to Operate) search, Patentability search, Patent Invalidity search, Patent landscape, Patent watch, patent scouting & competitive intelligence.
- Conduct patent searches using SCIFINDER, Questel Orbit, Thomson Innovation/STN search, and Reaxys.
- Support process due diligence and competitive intelligence activities.
- Assist with patent filing, examination processes, and coordination related to Indian patent law and practices.
- Provide IP insights to R&D and business teams supporting Officer-Patent Job functions within Pharma Jobs.
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, B. Pharma / M. Pharma from a reputed University
Experience:
-
2–3 years of experience in patent searches, process due diligence, competitive intelligence, patentability analysis, and patent scouting
Essential Skills:
- Expertise in FTO (Freedom to Operate) search, Patentability search, Patent Invalidity search, Patent landscape, Patent watch, patent scouting & competitive intelligence
- Hands-on experience with SCIFINDER, Questel Orbit, Thomson Innovation/STN search, Reaxys
- Basic knowledge of patent filing, examination, and Indian patent law and practices
Desirable:
- Registered Patent Agent
- Postgraduate diploma/certificate in IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) law
- Prior experience of working in Inhouse IP in an agrochemical company or a similar industry
