The Regional Medical Expert (RME) is a field-based Medical Affairs role responsible for engaging with healthcare professionals (HCPs), accounts, and institutions to facilitate high-quality scientific exchange. RMEs ensure consistent execution of cluster-level engagement plans and provide timely medical insights to shape strategy. Key Responsibilities | Roche Careers
- Execute an HCP and account engagement plan aligned with cluster and pan-India medical strategy.
- Build peer-to-peer scientific relationships with HCPs, including KOLs and ophthalmology specialists.
- Identify, capture, and share actionable medical insights from the field.
- Support advisory boards, medical education programs, and scientific meetings.
- Collaborate with DAMLs and MEs to identify real-world evidence opportunities.
- Support identification and assessment of trial sites and investigators.
- Represent Roche Medical at scientific congresses and institutional forums.
- Ensure compliance with Roche SOPs, UCPMP, and local regulations.
- Remain flexible to support other disease areas while maintaining focus on Ophthalmology.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree: MBBS, MD, PharmD, PhD, or MPharm.
- 2–4 years’ experience in Medical Affairs, clinical practice, or related field.
- Prior exposure to Ophthalmology (Vitreo-Retinal preferred).
- Ability to engage in credible scientific discussions.
- Understanding of clinical research, RWE, and Indian healthcare environment.
- Willingness to travel 60–70%.
- Strong communication, scientific curiosity, and ethical compliance.
