    Job Description

    This Pharma Research Job available through MAHE Careers focuses on drug discovery and lead optimization research targeting multidrug-resistant tuberculosis strains. The selected candidate will participate in the development of indole-based clinical candidates effective against Mycobacterium tuberculosis residing inside macrophages.

    Project Details

    • Project Title: “Lead optimization studies to identify indole-based clinical candidates effective against multidrug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis residing inside macrophages.”
    • Project Type: Pharmaceutical drug discovery and medicinal chemistry research project
    • Funding Agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

    • Project Objective: The project aims to develop and optimize indole-based chemical compounds that can act as potential drug candidates against multidrug-resistant (MDR) tuberculosis bacteria that survive inside macrophages (immune cells).
    • Duration of the Project: Initially for a period of 1 year and extendable up to 3 years based on performance.
    • Fellowship: Rs. 56,000/+10%HRA (Rs.61,600/- per month).

    • Experience in designing new chemical entities and confirming novelty through literature survey
    • Scientific writing experience with peer-reviewed publications
    • Strong communication, leadership, and computational skills
