- Provide understandable discharge instructions in the patient’s language, including information leaflets when possible.
- Coordinate with nursing and medical staff regarding prescriptions, reactions, errors, and pharmaceutical details.
- Adhere to departmental policies, safety, and quality assurance programs.
- Ensure secure storage of narcotics and controlled substances.
- Conduct regular stock taking and drug audits.
- Manage medication orders through pharmacy software systems.
- Maintain minimum nurse unit stock levels.
- Support doctors with formulary information.
- Address patient concerns and recommend procedural improvements.
- Maintain proper departmental documentation and confidentiality.
- Participate in quality assurance and control activities.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet departmental needs.
