Job Description
The organisation is looking for a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join a dynamic team at OneHealth Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmaceutical care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for patient safety and wellness.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dispensing & Patient Care
- Dispense medications as per valid prescriptions with 100% accuracy
- Counsel patients on drug dosage, usage, storage, and side effects
- Verify drug allergies, interactions, and contraindications
2. NABH & Quality Compliance
- Adhere strictly to NABH pharmacy standards
- Maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections
- Participate in quality improvement activities, medication safety programs, and audits
- Report and document medication errors / near-miss events
3. Inventory & Store Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels and avoid stock-outs
- Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure safe disposal of expired drugs
- Coordinate with vendors for procurement and indenting
4. Clinical & Interdepartmental Coordination
- Coordinate with doctors and nurses for medication clarifications
- Support antibiotic stewardship and rational drug use
- Assist in ward pharmacy services, ICU, OT, and emergency supply
5. Documentation & Records
- Maintain prescription records, narcotic registers, and temperature logs
- Ensure cold chain maintenance for vaccines and temperature-sensitive drugs
- Update drug formularies and SOPs as required
6. Safety & Ethics
- Follow hospital infection control policies
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or equivalent.
- Valid license to practice as a Pharmacist in Tamil Nadu.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
