About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Clinical Data Management Analyst with hands-on experience in clinical databases and clinical trial data management. This role bridges clinical understanding with data operations, responsible for ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and readiness for analysis in both interventional and real-world evidence (RWE) studies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical trial data structures, database design, and data validation, as well as the ability to translate complex study protocols into structured, query-ready data models.
Key Responsibilities of the CDM Job
- Design, standardize, and manage clinical databases supporting RWE and clinical research studies.
- Interpret study protocols and convert inclusion/exclusion criteria into structured data logic for cohort identification.
- Develop and maintain data dictionaries, variable mappings, and clinical terminology standards (ICD, MedDRA, ATC, LOINC, etc.).
- Support clinical data management activities, including data cleaning, discrepancy review, and query resolution.
- Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure completeness and consistency across study datasets.
- Use SQL (and other querying tools) to extract, merge, and validate patient-level data from EDC, EHR, or clinical data repositories.
- Collaborate with data engineers and medical teams to ensure accurate ETL workflows and database configurations.
- Evaluate and refine LLM-generated variable mappings or cohort outputs, ensuring clinical correctness and consistency.
- Maintain thorough documentation of data transformation logic, validation reports, and audit trails.
Qualifications and Skills for CDM Job
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, or related discipline (B.Pharm preferred).
- 2–4 years of experience in clinical database management, EDC setup, or clinical trial data management.
- Working knowledge of clinical data standards (CDISC, SDTM, CDASH) and clinical coding systems (ICD-9/10, MedDRA, SNOMED).
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying, joins, and validation within relational database environments.
- Strong understanding of clinical study design, protocol elements, and data flow from source to analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to document data workflows, maintain audit trails, and ensure regulatory compliance in data handling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Hands-on experience with EDC systems (Medidata Rave, Oracle Clinical, REDCap, or equivalent).
- Exposure to EHR, claims, or registry databases and data integration for RWE studies.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM-based tools for data extraction, mapping, or clinical text parsing.
- Basic scripting or visualization skills (Python, R, Power BI, or Tableau) are a plus.
