Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is inviting applications for the Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellow (RJP-PDF) position in the Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Science. This IoE-sponsored Post-Doctoral Fellow Position offers a monthly stipend of ₹60,000 + HRA to Ph.D. holders from top-ranked Indian (NIRF top 50) or international (QS/THE top 500) universities. The selected fellow will work under Dr. Anchal Singh on research spanning Proteomics, Immunology, and Nanotechnology for a duration of 12 months.

About the Institution
Banaras Hindu University (BHU), established in 1916 by Parliament Notification No. 225, is one of India’s most prestigious central universities and an Institution of Eminence (IoE). The Department of Biochemistry within the Institute of Science is at the forefront of research in infectious diseases, molecular biology, and drug delivery systems. The Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellowship is a flagship IoE initiative designed to attract top-tier researchers to mentor under eminent faculty and accelerate research output.
Job Description
- Applications are invited for one post of Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellow with a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 60,000/- per month + HRA (Rs. 10,000/- per month) and a contingency of Rs. 50,000/- per year on a pro rata basis in an IoE BHU-sponsored fellowship.
- This position is sanctioned for up to 12 months from the date of the fellow’s joining.
- The Fellow will have access to comprehensive benefits, including health services, a library, and access to other university resources.
Essential Qualifications
- Only those research scholars who have completed their Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or any related field from an Indian University/Institute with an NIRF ranking of up to 50 (overall or in the respective areas) or those who have completed a Ph.D. abroad in top 500 world ranking universities (Q.S. or T.H.E.) are eligible.
- Candidates from Institutions of National Importance are also eligible.
- Applicants must have a proven track record, with at least 2 published papers in Q1 or Q2 journals, or in SCOPUS/Web of Science-listed journals.
Desirable Qualifications
Research experience in Proteomics, Immunology, Parasitology, Filarial biology, Pharmacology, and Nanotechnology for efficient drug delivery, with expertise in in-vitro and in-vivo studies, handling rats and mice, and evidence of original research publications will be preferred.
Upper Age Limit
- The upper age limit is 45 years, with a 5-year relaxation for female, SC, ST, and Physically Handicapped candidates.
- Other selection criteria for this fellowship (RJP-PDF) follow the rules of the Government of India and Banaras Hindu University.
