Job Description
Under Research Assistant Jobs at Tata Medical Center Careers, selected candidates will work in the Organoid Laboratory (SOLi3D group) at TTCRC. The role involves developing, establishing, maintaining, and characterizing tumour organoid cultures from patient tissue samples while collaborating with clinicians, scientists, and hospital multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing, establishing, maintaining, and characterizing tumour organoid cultures
- Clinical sample processing and organoid culture
- High-throughput confocal microscopic imaging
- DNA, RNA, and protein extraction with quality checks
- Sample preparation for histological analysis, NGS, and protein mass spectrometry
- Drug response testing and other cell biology assays
- Recording, analysing, and presenting research data
- Preparing scientific reports and manuscripts
- Participating in group meetings and national conferences
Qualifications
Research Assistant Level I/II
- MSc/MTech in Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- No publication requirement
Research Assistant Level IV/V
- MSc/MTech in Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry
- PhD candidates will not be considered
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience
- 1 research article as a co-author in a peer-reviewed journal
Senior Research Assistant
- MSc/MTech in Pharmacology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Cell & Molecular Biology, Biochemistry
- PhD candidates will not be considered
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- 1 research article as first author in a peer-reviewed journal
Relevant Experience
- Extensive experience in mammalian cell culture techniques
- Familiarity with DNA, RNA, and protein extraction techniques
- qRT-PCR and Western Blot
- Familiarity with good laboratory practices
Preferable (Not Mandatory)
- Patient sample handling
- 3D cell culture models (organoid/spheroid)
- High-throughput drug screening assays
- Automated confocal imaging

Salary / Retainership
- Research Assistant Level I/II: INR 25,000 – 28,000/month
- Research Assistant Level IV/V: INR 38,000 – 42,000/month
- Senior Research Assistant: INR 47,000 – 52,000/month
