Job Role Description:
The Scientist I in the Verification Program is responsible for performing analytical tests on dietary supplements and ingredients to support USP’s mission of global public health. This is an individual contributor role that involves hands-on laboratory work, data analysis, and scientific reporting. By working in a Scientist Job at USP, these responsibilities are crucial in maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct verification projects for dietary supplements and ingredients using methods such as HPLC, GC, Dissolution, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, wet analysis, and other analytical techniques.
- Prepare comprehensive summary reports and respond to Quality Assurance observations.
- Execute laboratory tests with precision and maintain compliance with GLP, safety protocols, and USP policies.
- Assist with laboratory maintenance, equipment calibration, and procurement of chemicals and consumables.
- Participate in ISO-9001 & ISO-17025 certification/recertification activities, audits, and internal QA reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Global Public Health, Reference Standard Laboratory, QA, HR, and other departments as part of your Scientist Job at USP.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance laboratory operations.
- Maintain continuous learning and stay updated with regulatory and compendial standards while fulfilling the duties of a Scientist Job at USP.
Educational Qualification
Master’s degree in Pharmacy or Analytical Chemistry.
Experience and Skills
- 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in pharmaceutical QC or analytical testing laboratories.
- Proficiency in HPLC operation (Empower software) and dissolution analysis.
- Knowledge of GC, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, LC-MS, IR, KF, UV, Ion Chromatography.
- Familiarity with ICH guidelines, FDA regulations, and compendial methods (USP, BP, EP).
- Experience with Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN).
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
