Summer Training Program at CSIR-CCMB | Pharma Students Apply Now
The CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, is now accepting online applications for the Summer Training Program 2026. Open to students in M.Sc., M.Tech, B.Pharm, MBBS, and other life science branches, this 60-day program provides a unique opportunity to execute research projects under the guidance of CCMB scientists. Eligible candidates must apply by March 10, 2026, to secure a spot in this prestigious hands-on training initiative.

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) is a premier research organization under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). About the Training Program
- The Summer Training Program is not a conventional classroom lecture-based training program.
- Instead, each selected candidate/trainee will be assigned to a CCMB staff scientist who will supervise/mentor them during their stay. Each student is expected to execute a small project under the guidance of the scientist.
- A lecture series on popular science topics, scientific ethics, good laboratory practices, and opportunities in life sciences will be organized for the students.
- At the end of the program, students must submit a ‘Project Report’ of the work done and be required to make a poster presentation.
- The program mainly intends to give students real-time exposure/hands-on experience in research.
Eligibility Criteria
- M.Sc./ M.Tech/ M.Pharm Program: Students admitted in 2025 (who completed the first year of M.Sc./ M.Tech/ M.Pharm) are eligible.
- B.Tech./B.Pharm Program: Students admitted in 2023 (who have completed three years of B.Tech.) are eligible.
- Integrated B.Tech-M.Tech or B.Sc-M.Sc. or BVSc: Students who completed the 8th semester (or four years of their study) are eligible.
- MBBS/ BDS students who have completed three years of study are eligible.
- B.Sc in Biosciences 4-year program: Students admitted in 2023 (who completed three years of B.Sc.) are eligible.
- Note: 3 years B.Sc program students are not eligible.
Application Procedure
- An authorization letter from the HOD/DEAN of the Institute/University/College for the Summer Program-2026 should be submitted online. The names of the selected candidates will be posted on the CCMB website.
- It may be noted that no separate intimation would be sent to any candidate, and thus, all applicants are expected to check the ‘selection list’ on the CCMB website and send their consent.
Boarding/Lodging
CCMB will not provide accommodation. Students have to make arrangements for their stay during the training period.
Important Points to Note
- Applications for Summer Program 2026 MUST be submitted ONLINE only.
- The duration of the program is 60 days (~eight weeks). All candidates selected for the program must spend 60 days in CCMB without any break.
- Application of the candidate mentioning less than 60 days tenure in the HOD/Authorization letter will not be considered.
- Requests/applications for the program sent before this notification will not be considered. Any such candidate MUST apply again using the prescribed application form.
- Students must upload copies of the marks/grades obtained from the 10th standard to date. In case the marks sheet/grades for the 2nd semester (or first year) of M.Sc, M.Tech, and M.Pharm. They MUST upload a certificate from the college/institute that they have appeared for the exams, and the results are awaited.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Academic excellence and a Statement of Purpose (SOP) will be considered to select the candidates. However, the average chance of selection is less than 10% as the number of applications we receive is usually high compared to the number of scientists.
- The institute’s decision regarding the selection of candidates shall be final.
- Canvassing in any form and bringing in any political or otherwise influence will be treated as disqualifying.
- All candidates are required to furnish an authorization letter from the Head of the Department/DEAN in the prescribed format.
