Job Description
We are looking for a Scientist II – Reference Standards Laboratory (RSL) to join our Hyderabad team. This is a non-supervisory, technical position focused on pharmaceutical analysis, laboratory operations, and supporting global public health standards in a scientist job capacity.
You will be responsible for performing analytical testing, maintaining a GLP environment, and contributing to the advancement of USP’s mission of ensuring quality medicines for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute analytical testing and interpret data with precision and accuracy.
- Perform HPLC, GC, UV, IR, titrations, and other pharmaceutical testing techniques ideally suited for those in a scientist job role.
- Support verification, stability, PQM, and other departmental projects.
- Manage sample archival, tracking, and chemical inventory in the lab.
- Perform instrument calibration, IQ/OQ/PQ, and ensure smooth lab operations.
- Raise purchase requisitions for chemicals, columns, and other consumables.
- Ensure compliance with GLP regulations, safety practices, and audit requirements.
- Participate actively in internal and external regulatory audits (e.g., FDA, ISO/IEC 17025).
Educational Qualification
Master’s degree in Pharmacy, ideally for pursuing a rewarding scientist job.
Experience and Skills
- 3–6 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Strong expertise in chromatographic analysis (HPLC preferred).
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical testing protocols (USP compendia, ICH guidelines, FDA).
- Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (GC, UV, IR, titration methods, water determination, LOD, ROI).
- Skilled in Empower software (audit trails, custom fields).
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of GLP, QMS, ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Experience with Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN), ERP systems, QR coding.
- Exposure to pharmaceutical QC labs, analytical R&D, or contract testing organizations, all of which are valuable for a scientist job.
- Familiarity with monograph procedures (USP, NF, FCC).
