Job Description
Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, invites applications for the Amity Institute of Biotechnology (AIB) for a Jr. Research Assistant (JRA). The selected candidate will work on the CSTUP-sponsored project focused on the valorization of sugar mill wastewater and bagasse hydrolysate through two-stage semi-continuous mixotrophic microalgae cultivation. This Amity University JRA Recruitment opportunity is suited to eligible candidates seeking hands-on experience in microalgae-based wastewater valorization research.
Duration of the Position
- 03 Years (co-terminus with the project; continuation year-to-year subject to performance and availability of funds)
Fellowship
- Rs. 25,000/- per month (consolidated) for the 1st and 2nd years; Rs. 28,000/- per month for the 3rd year, as per CSTUP norms and the sanctioned project budget.
Qualifications
Essential Qualification
- M.Sc (Ag.)/M.Sc./M.Pharm./M.V.Sc./Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech.) or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline (Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences/Chemical Engineering or an allied field).
- 1st class in Graduate and Post-Graduate examinations (high academic attainment).
Desirable Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in microalgae cultivation (batch, semi-continuous, or photobioreactor operation).
- Knowledge of wastewater characterization (COD, TN, TP) and industrial/agro-effluent treatment.
- Familiarity with mixotrophic cultivation, lipid/pigment extraction, or biorefinery processes.
- Experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, or FAME profiling will be preferred.
- Good scientific writing and communication skills.
- CSIR-NET/GATE qualified candidates will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities
Based on the project requirements, the Junior Research Assistant will be involved in research activities associated with microalgae cultivation, wastewater characterization, mixotrophic cultivation, lipid/pigment extraction, biorefinery processes, and analytical instrumentation relevant to the project.
Residential Eligibility
- Only Indian citizens who are residents of Uttar Pradesh are eligible, as per CSTUP R&D guidelines.
Age Limit
- Maximum 28 years as of 1st April 2026, as per CSTUP R&D guidelines.
