- Name of Project: “Development of an industrially relevant E. coli MG1655 chassis for 2,3-butanediol production from rice-straw hydrolysate.”
- Name of Sponsoring Agency: Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)
- Duration of the Position: 3 years
Key Responsibilities
- Work on the ANRF-funded biotechnology research project.
- Participate in gene cloning, PCR, plasmid isolation, bacterial transformation, recombinant E. coli handling, microbial cultivation, fermentation, and biochemical/analytical techniques.
- Support research related to lignocellulosic biomass hydrolysate preparation, bioprocess optimization, HPLC/GC analysis, and metabolic engineering.
Salary
- 37,000/- + 30% HRA to Scholars who are selected through:
- National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE
- A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments, their Agencies and Institutions.
- 30,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
Qualifications
- Essential Qualifications: B. Pharm from a recognized University or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications
Candidates with prior experience in:
- Gene cloning
- PCR
- Plasmid isolation
- Bacterial transformation
- Recombinant E. coli handling
- Microbial cultivation
- Fermentation
- Basic biochemical/analytical techniques
Preference will also be given to candidates having experience in:
- Lignocellulosic biomass hydrolysate preparation
- Bioprocess optimization
- HPLC/GC analysis
- Metabolic engineering
