Astellas Clinical Trial Specialist Job Description

The Astellas clinical trial specialist will assist the Clinical Trial Lead(s) and Clinical Trial Manager(s) in the day-to-day operations, set-up, execution, and close-out of assigned drug trials. These trials may include pre/post-POC interventional drug trials, Clinical Pharmacology normal healthy volunteer clinical trials, and post-marketing regulatory commitment trials. The specialist is accountable to the clinical trial team for supporting trial execution and works collaboratively with global cross-functional team members and vendors to ensure the prsetupet-up of trial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations with a high sense of urgency for assigned trials, ensuring completion per established project team objectives and compliance with GCP/ICH guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with other non-regional CTS team members to maintain accurate trial information within relevant tracking systems and provide regular updates as requested.
  • Participate in the development of trial plans and system set-up, ensuring quality across investigative sites and vendors.
  • Conduct site feasibility assessments and maintain associated data for trial conduct.
  • Manage CRO and vendor set-up during clinical trial execution as requested.
  • Participate in trial team meetings and manage associated documentation as requested.
  • Coordinate data cleaning and data reviews as requested.
  • Implement patient-focused strategies for assigned trials as appropriate.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess a BA/BS degree with at least 3 years of clinical trial experience or a direct equivalent experience, or an advanced degree (MS/PhD/PharmD) with at least 2 years of clinical trial experience.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ICH/GCP guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of protocol and clinical drug development processes, clinical trial design, and management.
  • Project management skills and trial leadership ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Moderate (~25%) travel required.
