Biocon Hiring MPharm – Job Description
Biocon is hiring Scientists, Senior Scientists, and Principal Scientists for its Peptide Synthesis API R&D team in Bangalore. The selected candidates will be responsible for developing and optimizing both solid-phase and solution-phase peptide synthesis processes, as well as scaling up these processes and characterizing peptides.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform peptide synthesis using solid-phase and solution-phase strategies (manual/automated synthesizers).
- Conduct peptide cleavage, isolation, purification, and impurity profiling.
- Carry out peptide modifications, including C- and N-terminal changes, as well as conjugations.
- Execute analytical and spectroscopic characterization of peptides.
- Prepare technical documents, maintain lab journals, and support process scale-up.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality peptide APIs.

MPharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
Experience and Skills
- Strong expertise in solid-phase and solution-phase peptide synthesis.
- Expertise in hybrid technologies/Molecular Hiving preferred.
- Experience in peptide process development and pharmaceutical scale-up.
- Knowledge of peptide purification and impurity isolation techniques.
- Proven track record in peptide-derived API synthesis.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in collaborative teams.
- Self-motivated with a go-getter attitude.
