The Institute is seeking highly motivated individuals for the Project Associate-I position, with a walk-in interview scheduled for 15 September 2026.

Job Details
- Post: Project Associate-I
- Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or M. Pharm / M. S in Natural Products / Medicinal Chemistry / Pharmacognosy or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute.
Desirable Qualification:
- Research experience in Extraction & Isolation techniques (Chromatography purification, HPLC, etc.) and characterization Techniques (IR, MS, HR-MS, NMR, etc.) of natural products.
- Related publications, if any.
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years
- Stipend (per month in ₹):
- 31,000/- + HRA (for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET incl. Lecturership/Assistant Professorship or GATE or those who have qualified National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent).
- 25,000/- + HRA (for those who do not fall under the above category).
- Mode of Selection: Selection is to be done on the basis of Interview; however, if a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may revisit the Screening criteria, if required, for the CSIR-IIIM Project Associate-I position.
- Mode of Interview: Walk-In Interview
- Venue: CSIR-IIIM, Canal Road, Jammu
- Date of Walk-in Interview: 15 September 2026 (Tuesday)
- Reporting Time: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM*
- *Candidates reporting for the interview after 10:00 AM will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
- Note: Candidates are required to bring the duly filled Annexure-I at the time of the interview.
General Terms, Conditions & Instructions:
- The current duration of the project is up to 26 February 2027.
- The tenure of engagement shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances shall the total tenure exceed six years, including engagement in all CSIR labs.
- Performance will be reviewed periodically and unsatisfactory performance may lead to termination without any notice or reason.
- The position(s) are purely temporary and are on behalf of the sponsor and, therefore, do not confer any right on the incumbent(s) to any claim, implicit or explicit, for absorption on any post in CSIR-IIIM/CSIR.
- Candidates will have the option to interact in English/Hindi before the Selection Committee.
- Relaxation in age limit will be given as per Government of India Rules. Age will be reckoned as on the date of Interview.
- Upon selection/empanelment, the original documents, including eligibility qualification, DOB, caste, and age relaxation certificate, will be verified; if any discrepancy is found, the selection/empanelment shall stand cancelled.
- The number of positions may vary depending upon the project requirements at the time of Interview.
- The Director, CSIR-IIIM reserves the right to not fill any or all advertised positions.
- Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification for the positions.
- Candidates currently engaged in any project at CSIR-IIIM must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before applying for any new vacancy. Applications/candidature/selection of such candidates will only be considered if the NOC has been issued by the office.
- Interim enquiries will not be entertained.
- All applicants must fulfill the essential qualification and other conditions stipulated in the advertisement as on the date of Interview. They are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the essential qualifications laid down as on the date of Interview.
- No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
