Data Management Trainee Job Description
The Lab Data Management Trainee will support Laboratory Data Management (LDM) activities, which include reviewing laboratory reports, transcribing clinical laboratory data into LIMS, performing quality checks, resolving data discrepancies, and coordinating with internal teams and laboratories. This role is designed to provide freshers with exposure to clinical laboratory processes, data quality, regulatory standards, and healthcare research operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding laboratory test parameters and their clinical and scientific significance.
- Following study-specific data handling guidelines.
- Reading and interpreting laboratory reports.
- Transcribing laboratory information accurately into the LIMS system.
- Performing second-level reviews and quality checks of transcribed laboratory data.
- Identifying errors or discrepancies in laboratory reports.
- Supporting laboratory data reconciliation activities with the EDC database.
- Maintaining high standards of data quality, accuracy, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
Eligibility Criteria
- A Bachelor’s degree or educational equivalent in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related disciplines.
- Freshers with relevant educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with clinical laboratory experience may also be considered.
Required Skills
- Knowledge or interest in Clinical Laboratory Data Management and Clinical Research.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Test Parameters and LIMS.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Advanced Excel features such as VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective customer communication and project management skills.
- Understanding of regulatory knowledge, including FDA Regulations, ICH Guidelines, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
