NIPER Kolkata JRF Job Description
The NIPER Kolkata JRF will be involved in a project aimed at evaluating GABA producing probiotic strains as anti-epileptics using animal models of epilepsy. The selected candidate will work under the guidance of Dr. Sugato Banerjee, Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on GABA producing bacteria and their effects as anti-epileptics.
- Utilize animal models for experimental studies.
- Analyze data and prepare reports on research findings.
- Collaborate with other researchers and contribute to project goals.
- Assist in the preparation of research publications.
Eligibility Criteria
- Essential qualifications: M.S (Pharm)/M. Pharm in Pharmacology/Pharmacology and Toxicology or equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA.
- Valid GPAT/NET/GATE qualification is mandatory.
- Experience in behavioral animal studies and knowledge of cell and molecular biology will be preferred.
- Candidates with prior experience of working in a funded project will be preferred.
Salary: Rs. 37,000/- and HRA as per ANRF norms
Terms and Conditions
- The position is purely contractual for a tenure of 1 year, extendable based on performance up to a maximum of 3 years or the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
- Selected candidates will not be entitled to claim regular appointment/absorption in the institute.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
