This Pharmacovigilance Job role plays a key role in ensuring patient safety through effective prescription review, adverse event tracking, and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Educational Background & Certification:
- Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D) or PhD in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- State licensure as a registered pharmacist.
Clinical Knowledge in:
- Oncology: Understanding chemotherapy protocols, drug interactions, and supportive care.
- Diabetes: Expertise in insulin therapy, oral antidiabetics, and patient adherence strategies.
- Obesity: Managing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, including GLP-1 receptor agonists like Tirzepatide (Mounjaro).
- IBD: Knowledge of biologics, immunomodulators, and the impact of obesity on pharmacokinetics.
Prescription Review:
- Evaluate prescriptions for indication, legality, and safety.
- Identify potential drug interactions, contraindications, and dosing errors.
Communication Skills:
- Liaise with physicians for prescription clarifications or recommendations.
- Provide empathetic counseling to patients and caregivers.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate intervention records.
- Ensure adherence to pharmacovigilance and adverse event reporting standards.
Pharmacovigilance Job Role-Specific Responsibilities:
- Review prescriptions in high-risk therapeutic areas and align with clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with physicians for prescription optimization.
- Educate patients on medication adherence, side effects, and lifestyle changes.
- Support post-prescription programs and provide device training to patients.
Additional Responsibilities (PSP Program)
- Call Auditing: Evaluate tele-educator calls to improve empathy, communication, and technical accuracy.
- Training & Development: Design structured programs for soft skills, therapeutic knowledge, and compliance protocols.
- GRN Approvals: Oversee Goods Receipt Notes to ensure accurate inventory and vendor payments.
- Adverse Event Follow-up: Ensure timely reporting and documentation in line with pharmacovigilance standards.
- Escalation Management: Handle complex patient cases and operational issues efficiently.
