    Walk-in Interview Details

    • Interview Date: 15 July 2026 (For Chemical Sciences & Pharma area positions)
    • Reporting Time: 09:00 AM onwards
    • Cut-off Time: Candidates reporting after 10:00 AM will not be entertained.
    • Venue: CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Sector-10, Jankipuram Extension, Sitapur Road, Lucknow – 226031

    Selection Instructions

    • Screening Process: Selection is primarily through a Walk-in Interview. However, depending on the number of candidates who show up, a Written Test in the subject area may be conducted on the same day to shortlist candidates for the interview.
    • Duration: The interview process may continue into subsequent days. Outstation candidates are highly advised to make their own travel and stay arrangements accordingly.
    • Expenses: No TA/DA (Travel Allowance / Dearness Allowance) will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.

    Important Instructions

    • Reporting Deadlines: Candidates must report starting at 09:00 AM. Anyone reporting after 10:00 AM will not be allowed to participate.
    • Document Readiness: You must bring a filled application form and undertaking (downloadable from www.cdri.res.inalong with a recent passport-size photograph and both original and self-attested copies of all mark sheets and certificates.
    • Result Awaited Policy: Provisional or tentative mark sheets and “result awaited” statuses are not accepted.
    • Shortlisting Test: If there is a large turnout of candidates, a written test in the respective subject area may be conducted on the same day to shortlist individuals for the interview.
    • Stay Arrangements: The interview process may extend to subsequent days. Outstation candidates must arrange their own lodging and food; no TA/DA (travel/daily allowance) will be provided by the institute.

    General Conditions & Guidelines

    1. Age & Eligibility Crucials

    • Age Relaxation: Upper age limit relaxations apply as per Government of India rules: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates and 03 years for OBC candidates.
    • Crucial Date: The exact date for determining your final age, qualifications, and experience will be the date of the interview.

    2. Tenure & Contract Terms

    • Purely Temporary: All positions are strictly on a temporary, contract basis and are co-terminus with the project. Joining does not grant any implicit or explicit right to permanent employment or regularization at CSIR-CDRI.
    • Maximum Engagement Limit: Your cumulative tenure across one or multiple projects/laboratories within CSIR cannot exceed 6 years in total (can extend up to 7 years only under specific industry-funded or consultancy terms).

    3. Leave & Benefits

    • Standard Leave Allowance: Project staff are entitled to 12 days of leave per year (accumulated at 1 day per month). Any leave taken beyond this will result in a pro-rata salary deduction.
    • Maternity & Paternity Benefits: Female project staff are eligible for 180 days of maternity leave, and male staff are eligible for 15 days of paternity leave (up to 2 surviving children). Stipends for the leave period are released after re-joining and submitting valid medical documents.
    • Medical Facilities: Project personnel have access to basic medical consultation and available stock medicines at CSIR dispensaries. Staff can also opt into a Group Medical Insurance Scheme at their own expense.
    • Ph.D. Registration: Staff may be permitted to register for a Ph.D. if the project duration is 3 years or more, provided it does not disrupt project objectives and carries no financial obligation for CSIR.

    4. Institutional Rights

    • Vacancies & Funding: The Director of CSIR-CDRI reserves the right to increase, decrease, or completely cancel positions or the recruitment process at any stage. Furthermore, position codes will automatically be cancelled if project funds become unavailable.
    • Empanelment: Deserving candidates who clear the interview process but miss the active slots may be empanelled for future project vacancies.
    • Queries: No interim communications or tracking queries will be entertained during the selection window.
