Job Description
Colgate-Palmolive is hiring an Associate Scientist, Toxicology to join its Global Product Safety team in Mumbai. The selected candidate will provide safety support to toxicologists in the Piscataway office by conducting safety clearance reviews for formulas, experimental recipes, and human use protocols. This Scientist Job requires working in a hybrid shift schedule to collaborate with the US-based Global Product Safety team while ensuring consumer safety and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safety clearance reviews for new product recipes (formulas), experimental formulas, and formulas being tested in Clinical, Consumer, or Panel studies (Human Use Protocols).
- Prepare Product Safety Reports.
- Assist senior toxicologists by performing formula reviews and comparisons required for product registration safety letters and regulatory requests.
- Evaluate toxicological and scientific databases to conduct literature searches supporting new raw material safety assessments.
- Maintain Compliance Check values within Colgate’s Product Data Management (PDM) system.
- Work in a shift position to ensure overlap with the Global Product Safety team based in Piscataway.
Eligibility
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum one year of Toxicology experience in industry or consumer products.
- Experience in Product Safety/Toxicology with a consumer products, medical device, food, or pharmaceutical company.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Demonstrated relationship-building and effective execution skills.
- Experience performing literature searches and evaluating toxicological and scientific databases.
