Syneos Health Medical Scientist Job Description
The Syneos Health Medical Scientist supports the scientific and medical review of clinical trial data throughout study conduct. The professional may review participant eligibility, medical history, diagnoses, prior treatments, adverse events, serious adverse events, concomitant medications, study-drug administration, laboratory results, and other clinical study data. The role requires close collaboration with Medical Directors, Clinical Scientists, and other cross-functional clinical development teams to identify data inconsistencies, resolve queries, and maintain clinical data quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing clinical and medical review of clinical trial participant data.
- Serve as a clinical data reviewer and identify potential data discrepancies according to applicable data review plans.
- Review patient eligibility, diagnoses, medical history, and previous treatments.
- Review AE, SAE, and AESI information and other safety-related clinical data.
- Generate clinical or medical data queries and review responses received from study sites.
- Support Medical Directors with patient-profile and study-level scientific reviews.
- Monitor data-entry performance and help identify root causes of recurring data-quality issues.
- Contribute to data-review meetings and presentation materials where required.
Medical Scientist Eligibility Criteria
- Relevant educational backgrounds include PharmD, PhD, MBBS, MD, DMD, MSc in Life Sciences or an equivalent relevant scientific qualification.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in clinical data review, medical data review, clinical research, clinical trials, drug development, or related scientific functions.
Required Skills
- Strong capabilities in clinical and medical data analysis.
- Understanding of scientific principles and ICH-GCP guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
