Advarra Coverage Analyst Job Description

As a clinical trial coverage analyst, the Coverage Analyst II will be responsible for interpreting protocols, informed consent forms, and clinical trial agreements to build coverage analyses and billing guides. This role requires assessing routine costs versus sponsor-billed procedures and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The analyst will also meet daily and weekly coverage-analysis targets and document findings in the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret protocols, informed consent forms, and clinical trial agreements.
• Build coverage analyses and billing guides.
• Determine routine costs versus sponsor-billed procedures.
• Assess qualification under the Medicare Clinical Trial Policy (NCD 310.1).
• Apply federal and state regulations and clinical guidelines.
• Document in the CTMS.
• Train and mentor new team members.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.

Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Science with a background in Clinical Research or a similar domain.
• Sound knowledge of clinical research methodology, regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Required Skills

• 2–3 years of experience in coverage analysis or related fields.
• Experience in calendar and budget set-up.
• Knowledge of site Clinical Trial Coordinators (CTC) and clinical data management.
