    Selection Process

    1. Selection Process for Project Associate-I (PAT-I)

    The selection for PAT-I positions involves two sequential tiers:

    • Stage I: Written Examination (Qualifying only): An OMR-based, objective multiple-choice test.

    • Stage II: Personal Interview: Top scorers from the written exam are invited to the interview stage at a maximum ratio of 1:5 (five candidates per vacancy). The final merit list is prepared solely based on performance in the interview.

    2. Selection Process for All Other Positions (PAT-II, Senior-PAT, PS-I, PS-II)

    For advanced project roles, screening is based solely on the personal interview performance. No separate written exam is administered.

    Important Interview Guidelines & Requirements

    • Gate Closing Time: Strict cutoff at 10:00 AM at the Lucknow campus venue. No entry is allowed after this time under any circumstances.

    • Document Verification: Physical presentation of original documents (Date of Birth proof, Matriculation/Degree certificates, Caste certificates, or equivalence certificates) is mandatory. Digital copies, mobile photos, or tablet scans of originals will not be accepted.

    • Admit Cards: Issued exclusively for the PAT-I written exam. No separate admit cards will be distributed for the standalone interview segments of other positions.

    General Conditions & Important Instructions

    1. Citizenship & Status: The applicant must be a citizen of India. All positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the specific projects. Engagement does not confer any explicit or implicit right for regularization against any CSIR/IITR position.
    2. Cut-off Date: The date for determining age, qualification, and experience shall be the last date of submission of the online application: 21.06.2026.
    3. Experience Counting: For a position in a project, required experience shall be counted only after the candidate has acquired the minimum prescribed educational qualification.
    4. CGPA Conversion: In the case of Universities/Institutes awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades, candidates are requested to convert them into percentages based on their University/Institute’s formula.
    5. Age Limit & Relaxation: Minimum age is 18. Upper age limit is 35 years for PAT-I, PAT-II, and PS-I; and 40 years for PS-II and Senior-PAT. Relaxations apply (5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Females, 3 years for OBC Non-Creamy Layer).
    6. No Extensions for Glitches: If candidates cannot submit their online application due to server failure at the last moment, the last date will not be extended. Apply well in advance.
    7. Document Verification (Strict Rule): Candidates must produce original documents for verification at the time of the interview. Photographs or scanned images on mobile phones/tablets are NOT accepted as valid documents. Failure to bring originals will result in disqualification from the interview.
    8. Admit Cards: Admit cards are issued separately only for candidates appearing in the written examination for Project Associate-I (PAT-I). No separate admit cards are issued for the interview stage of any position.
    9. Gate Timing: Under no circumstances will any candidate arriving after 10:00 AM be permitted to appear for the interview or exam.
    10. Communication: Ensure you have a valid personal email ID and mobile number active until the completion of the recruitment process to receive intimation for admit cards.
