RRB Pharmacist Selection Process

The RRB Pharmacy selection process generally has three steps:

  1. The CBT test (i.e., computer-based test)
  2. Document verification
  3. Medical Examination
  4. Final Selection

Stage 1: The computer-based test:

This is the first and the most crucial step in the selection process for a health-based pharmacist, as scoring good marks on the CBT test is very much necessary for candidates to move on to the next selection process. Recruitment for the next step is based on the merit score that has been gained by the candidate and also the vacancies available.

Students must remember that this test also carries negative marking for every wrong answer, so make sure not to take any vague guesses for any answers.

Stage 2: The Document Verification:

Candidates who are selected from the CBT test are then called for the document verification for the next step. Candidates are required to provide the following documents for verification:

  • Their birth certificates
  • Their education certificate
  • The pharmacy registration certificates
  • Category certificate for SC/ST or OBC group
  • And other certificates which are claimed in the application

You must ensure that everything you have written in the application is similar to the documents that we are going to provide. Any breach in the document will lead to immediate cancellation of the document verification, and thus you will lose the post.

Stage 3: Medical examination:

Congratulations if you are selected for the medical examination. You also have to fulfill the criteria for this to finally get the job. Candidates selected for this will have their medical examination at various railway hospitals, where major importance will be given to visual acuity to ensure that the near vision and the far-sighted vision are accurate. They should also have normal color vision. Other physical health check-ups are also done to ensure that there will be no hindrance in the day-to-day activities of warehouse management, dispensing of medicines, and prescription handling.

Stage 4: Final Selection:

After clearing all of the sections, only then is a candidate eligible for the pharmacist role under the Indian Railways. Employment for the candidates is dependent on vacancies and merit marks obtained by them.

Getting the minimum eligibility marks does not guarantee a government job in any of the sectors.
