Job Description
This position independently leads end-to-end planning & implementation of all product development initiatives (new products, relaunches, funding the growth projects, etc.) as defined in the technology grid to achieve sustainable business growth. This position is responsible for maintaining 100% compliance with all guidelines related to product safety, quality, and regulatory, and ensuring smooth operations (pilot plant & technology transfer).
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Lead formulation development activities.
- Service consumer test samples.
- Manage laboratory and pilot plant batches.
- Conduct aging studies.
- Maintain proper record-keeping and documentation.
- Independently lead pilot plant operations.
- Ensure 100% compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize science and data analytics to identify opportunities and resolve challenges.
- Support ongoing and new product development projects.
- Apply statistical approaches to experimental design.
- Ensure compliance throughout the product life cycle.
- Develop expertise in assigned product categories.
- Share technical knowledge through documentation, presentations, publications, and patents.
- Lead supplier qualification programs for raw and packaging materials.
- Improve systems and processes to enhance compliance and speed to market.
- Respond quickly to changing consumer and business expectations.
New Product Development
- Integrate technological breakthroughs and consumer insights into innovative products.
- Independently lead product development projects from conceptualization to commercialization.
- Develop innovative product bundles and technology solutions.
- Create impactful product claims.
- Translate technical attributes into consumer-friendly benefits.
- Apply scientific knowledge for innovation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
- Optimize formulations and processes to reduce costs.
- Identify new suppliers for quality ingredients.
Business Partnering & Relationship Building
- Build professional networks to stay updated with technological advancements.
- Collaborate with commercial and supply chain teams.
- Work closely with Marketing, CIC, Supply Chain, India GTC, Piscataway, and other Global Technology Centers.
- Ensure the successful implementation of technology programs.
Build a Future-Ready Agile Organization
- Leverage performance management and development processes.
- Mentor and coach trainees and interns.
- Participate actively in coaching and continuous feedback initiatives.
Qualification
- Master’s/Ph. D. degree required (Chemical Engineer/ Pharmacy/ Science/Technology).
- Proven experience in R&D.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in an FMCG (Oral care/Personal care) company.
