Role Overview:
The Diagnostic Executive leverages medical, diagnostic, and clinical test expertise to enhance adoption of oncology biomarker testing. The role ensures seamless patient access, provides insights to medical teams, and supports testing facilities throughout the product lifecycle. It involves collaboration with Field Sales Teams, Medical Scientific Liaisons, diagnostic partners, and HCPs to execute tactical plans and address clinical and operational challenges.
Educational Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Medical Biotechnology, or Pharmacy.
- Experience in molecular diagnostics marketing and clinical test selling, preferably in oncology (lung cancer, women cancers, immunotherapy).
- Expertise in communicating scientific content to multiple audiences.
- Ability to travel extensively (>50%).
Major Responsibilities:
- Identify barriers to cancer biomarker testing and implement solutions to improve adoption.
- Monitor testing rates and test failure rates in the assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with pathologists, molecular diagnostics kit suppliers, HCPs, and scientific organizations.
- Support development of robust testing facilities, including protocol guidance and bottleneck removal.
- Generate demand through education, awareness, and advocacy initiatives.
- Provide insights to core medical teams for local strategy development.
- Apply strategic key account management skills to optimize diagnostic adoption.
- Ensure compliance with AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct, Policies, Standards, and SOPs.
Internal and External Collaboration:
- Internal Contacts: Diagnostics team, core medical team, brand teams.
- External Engagement: Health Care Professionals, diagnostic labs, advocacy groups, oncology diagnostics managers, professional associations.
Preferred Requirements:
- Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within tight timelines.
- Knowledge of diagnostic test development, regulatory and oncology environments; clinical trial experience preferred.
- Proven cross-functional project leadership and execution focus.
