PhD Research Position Description
The PhD Research Position is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, focused on advancing research in nanoformulations. The selected candidate will develop and evaluate nano-enabled ocular drug-delivery systems for improved access to the posterior eye. Experimental work will include formulation development and optimization of nano-based ocular drug-delivery systems, physicochemical characterization of developed formulations, in vitro experiments for evaluation of formulation performance, ex vivo studies relevant to ocular drug delivery and formulation evaluation, animal studies for preclinical evaluation of the developed formulations, and analysis, interpretation, documentation, and presentation of experimental findings. The role also includes preparing project reports, assisting in grant proposals, and engaging with industry or clinical partners as required by funded projects.

Eligibility Criteria
- Strong foundational knowledge in nanoscience, molecular medicine, biotechnology, materials science, physics, chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and experimental design relevant to nanomedicine and formulation development.
- Proficiency in scientific research methodologies, including literature review, hypothesis formulation, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Ability to write clear, well-structured scientific manuscripts, project reports, and thesis documents, and to present research findings effectively.
- Familiarity with research ethics, quality control, and regulatory or GMP-related practices in biomedical or materials research is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams, with strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Master’s degree (MTech or MSc in Nanobiotechnology or any branch of Life Science or MPharm holders) in a relevant field; prior research experience, publications, or conference presentations will be considered favorably.
- Motivation to pursue independent research leading to a PhD, and openness to engage with industry, clinical, or translational research partners.
