About the Institute
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hajipur, is the first institute of its kind established in Bihar in 2007. It is an autonomous institution of national importance under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Government of India, established through the NIPER Act, 1998. NIPER Hajipur serves as a centre of excellence for higher education, research, and development in pharmaceutical sciences and related disciplines.
Program Description
- NIPER Hajipur is inviting applications for direct PhD admission from candidates who already hold a valid research fellowship.
- Accepted fellowships include:
- CSIR-UGC JRF (NET-LS not eligible)
- DBT-JRF (Category A only)
- DST-INSPIRE Fellowship
- ICMR-JRF (except candidates selected only for ICMR projects)
- Candidates applying through DST-INSPIRE must successfully secure the fellowship; otherwise, their admission will be cancelled.
- NIPER Hajipur will not provide any fellowship or financial support to admitted candidates.
- Applicants should have a strong academic record and a keen research interest.
- Candidates must be self-motivated, creative, and capable of working independently as well as in teams.
- Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are desirable.
- No TA/DA or travel reimbursement will be provided for attending the interview.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master’s degree (M.S. Pharm/M.Pharm or equivalent) in any branch of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Minimum 60% marks or CGPA of 6.75 out of 10 in the qualifying degree [55% for SC/ST candidates]. For details, please check the NIPERJEE 2026 PhD brochure [Link]
- Valid offer of fellowship from CSIR/UGC (JRF), DBT (JRF), ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE, or equivalent programmes.
- Note: GPAT/GATE and similar entrance exams are not considered valid fellowship schemes for this admission.
- Candidates awaiting final results may also apply, provided they meet all eligibility criteria at admission.
- Financial support, terms, and conditions will be governed by the respective awarding agency and subject to institute policies.
- NIPER Hajipur will not pay any fellowship to the direct PhD admission/independent fellowship admission under any circumstances.

- Applicants must ensure that they meet all eligibility requirements before applying. Incomplete or ineligible applications will be summarily rejected.

Selection Process
