CSIR-IICB Summer Internship 2026
CSIR–Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), Kolkata, has announced its Summer Internship / Dissertation Program for 2026. This Summer Internship program gives postgraduate students a chance to explore real scientific research, work in advanced labs, and gain hands-on experience under expert scientists. About the Program
The Summer Internship program allows young students to experience the excitement of scientific research by working on projects that apply scientific principles. Who Can Apply?
Open to students pursuing postgraduate courses in chemical and life sciences from any recognized Indian University/College/Research Institute.
Minimum Eligibility for the Summer Internship:

Students of M.Pharm or related master’s programs in relevant disciplines.

Minimum 65% marks throughout academic career (from Class 10 onward).

Internship must be a mandatory part of the course curriculum.
Sponsored Trainee Opportunities
Students selected under INSA/IAS Summer Fellowships, INSPIRE, RISE, or similar government programs may also join.
For these programs, CSIR-IICB accepts applications only through the sponsoring agencies, not directly from students.
Intake Timeline & Internship Duration
- Internship Period: April – December 2026
- Joining date depends on requirements of the student’s university/college and lab availability
- Duration: Minimum 2 months – Maximum 1 year
- Final duration depends on academic requirements and supervisor availability

Application Procedure for the Summer Internship:
Step 1: Online Application
Eligible students must apply through the online link provided by CSIR-IICB during the application timeline.
Step 2: Send Hard Copy of Application
In addition to the online form, students must send:
- Application Form A
- Recommendation Letter (strictly as per CSIR-IICB format)
Both online submission + hard copy are mandatory.
Hard copy must reach CSIR-IICB on or before 31 January 2026.

Selection Process
Selection is based on:
- Academic excellence

- Lab requirements & available vacancies
Selected candidates for the Summer Internship will be informed via email or website notification.
Students will be placed in Biological Sciences or Chemical Sciences labs depending on availability.

- No fee is required for the internship.
